Coronavirus precautions (3-3-20)
We have had many questions about what precautions we are taking with regards to the Coronavirus issue in our area. This is something we are taking very seriously, and I wanted to let our regular customers know the steps we’ve been taking to protect both our employees and our customers’ homes.
Steps on our end
We have instructed all our teams to follow the CDC recommendations as far as washing hands, wearing gloves and disinfecting. Here are the steps each of our teams do each day:
- Each employee to wear disposable gloves in every house while cleaning, and of course dispose of at the end of each cleaning. Wash hands thoroughly each time.
- All of our cleaning rags and mop covers are bleached every day, and only freshly cleaned and bleached rags and mop covers are allowed into any home.
- All cleaning supplies (bottles, totes, duster handles, etc) are disinfected each day.
- Car interior surfaces – like door handles, steering wheel, or anywhere hands touch, are disinfected each day. Hand sanitizer is provided in each vehicle.
- Any employee who is at all sick, or who has anyone in their household who is sick, is to be placed on sick leave with Paid Time Off.
The CDC recommends using isopropyl rubbing alcohol for cleaning and disinfecting, and that’s exactly what our normal All-Purpose cleaner is made with. We use this for all surfaces (except wood or stone to prevent damage).
The City of Redmond put out a helpful information sheet, along with links to the CDC and Washington Dept of Health. Here are their recommendations, which we are following closely.
Our absolute top priority is safety while we all navigate through this crisis together. Please let us know if anyone in your house is sick, and we’re happy to reschedule until they feel better. Please bear with us as we juggle schedules with the high demand for cleanings, or late notices for cancellations. We’ll do our best to stay in contact around your scheduled cleaning.
